E#3 Coffs Harbour and Waterfall Way

The arrival at Coffs Harbour started with technical problems again, in a very sharp bend the umbilical cord of the trailer had released the emergency break without dropping out of its place, so it was not visible what had happened. $ 100.00 later we could move again and then Coffs Harbour's enormous water pressure blew the security valve of our water heater....

But the first time in 7 years I caught our favorite  cockatoo - the Gala - on camera:

Well Coffs Harbour is a small Harbour with a jetty and you can ride camels if yo want to and that says it all:

We have a rough idea now where to travel the rest of this year - we have done 500km of 2000km. Yesterday we arrived at "D" which is Armidale, the highest city above sea level  in Australia and about the only place that has the four distinctive seasons of the year. It is spring now and there is a gale powerful enough to make Viadestra shake. This blog is about getting there, about this very pretty town where time seems to move with a different pace there will (hopefully) be another blog.

The Waterfall way starts reasonable harmless:

Here it performs a rather mean way of entrapment: the sign post is about the NEXT intersection, the bridge is pedestrians only and the space to narrow to turn Viadestra around. Well, well, well - this was a very good exercise in backing up uphill through a bend with a fifth wheeler.

Lucky - unlucky at this place. After 80km windy road uphill the car created a strong burning rubber smell inside, so we made a brake which saved us another backing up on this narrow road, it allows only for one lane.

After 30 minutes we went on, but did not use the automatic any more and all was well. This special towing automatic of the Mazda BT 50 seems to have its limits.

The mountainous landscape was beautiful, so the break was worth it

This area is rich on this wonderful old buildings, in Armidale they are in very good state of repair - but you will see
